I don't think they wanted much of that to be taken.

I think you're right but it was sudden and possibly desperate

Didn't it pull it's head off all the way to post?

Maybe so, but I didn't see that 12k or the later 22k being taken or even being moved up so that it would be.
(if we're talking about the same race..i don't take any notice of their names)

I agree it didn't want to be matched.

The next race similar amounts were flashed up to back on the second favorite but vanished as soon as they came close to being matched.

Someone messing with the markets is my guess.

A layer was clearing up every back bet IP on Austrian School at a particularly fast rate

Didn't see what happened in the market prior to that but drifted pretty quick when the LV showed it pulling furiously down to post

Think it did the same in the race too hence the layers loading up

Where's Euler? ;)

He knows so much about how it all works, that whenever I see something shady going on naturally I assume it's him. Even more so if it doesn't seem to make any sense to me.

I suspect he arrives at every market like someone coming through the smoke on Stars in their Eyes..."Tonight Mathew, I'm going to be the crazy spoofer/the big resistor/the iceberger/etc etc etc :)

That was my view since I very first started. Every massive bet causing a reversal, I knew it was Peter ;)

Man I really enjoy the Irish markets ♥ even when I lose, I enjoy myself
I really enjoy the Australian markets, for the simple reason that I don't lose down there. :D
do you bot these Derek or manually trade them? Do you sleep?
I trade them manually and yes I do sleep, I just got up an hour ago. :)

I'm away from home for a few days.

If a horse is wasting it's energy in the parade or down to post why would people want to back it?

I'd imagine a lot of paddock watchers and bookies would be laying the crap out of a horse that did that, especially if normally relaxed

This is when data and bots dont work, when something new and unexpected happens

Does anyone has a data how many 1000 odds (prerace) horses win per year?

I agree, there's nothing like using your eyes to find the best trades.

They weren't trying very hard on that occasion.

If they're laying the crap out of it; why would Peter & Dallas need to know it's pulling?

I'd argue it's the cold trader's (i.e. technical data) job to spot & follow the fundamentalists (i.e. the guys watching the paddock)
