Hi All!

Just here with my usual thoughts/rants out in the open

I was talking to my brother and he said something which made me think...

I don't live in the UK anymore (that may change very soon), are the high st bookies still full of "normal" punters? (or as my brother put it "mug punters" ).
Is it still the norm for the general public to have a "bet" on a Saturday as part of their weekened, to then watch racing on the BBC?
I thought people like us on here were the norm these days..no?

When I think of bookies I have an image of fag ends, losers, and more importantly MUG PUNTERS/FAV BACKERS BACKING THE FAV A FEW MINS BEFORE THE OFF.

It was my brother who said "watch when the fav is ridden by the "name" in the race, Detorri or whoever...it will usually get backed before the off, by all those fav backers in Ladbrokes/Mick Dines/Coral etc.

Trading opportunity there? or just bunkum?
