They definitely used to settle Take SP bets at a manually reconciled SP after the event. I distinctly remember going through all the runners the next day and they had just added 10% to the industry SPs to arrive at the BFSP.
I can't now find anything in their rules which even mentions the procedure. Maybe they quietly did away with it?

They've never published anywhere how they manually reconcile the BSP's but they basically take the industry SP and scale it up to a 100% weighted book.

They always returned a BSP for BSP markets even if they have to reconcile it manually, that's been the case ever since they started BSP markets. They haven't included the manually reconciled markets in yesterdays price history files for whatever reason but will have set BSP in all the markets after 18:40.
How can you close your position elswhere if they state that "No matched bets will be void" and then go on to do the opposite?Kai wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 10:14 amI genuinely feel for those who lost serious money yesterday, every time there's an outage I know there's someone who lost their bank through no fault of their own. The sad truth is you have to try and be prepared for things like that, and if possible close your positions elsewhere on Betdaq or Sportsbook or at least minimize your liabilities.

Outages should theoretically be a zero sum.
If you're a loser then logic dictates that you should probably be hoping for another, if you're up then maybe not so much.

Same or better. The leveling effect would only disappear if you, they and the nominated selections always did exactly the same thing.
Life is just a series of logic gates,
Same inputs, same outcome.
Different inputs, different outcome.
Look I'm not writing a thesis, just spreading a little hope for the disgruntled & stung.

I keep an account of inadvertent profit/loss. I'm up for the last two years and miraculously I haven't had an entry in it this year.
Basically if you're usually in a position where you could green up for a profit when the outage occurs, over a period of time you're likely to end up in profit. The real problem is the level of risk.

Following our issue last night I wanted to share some details and apologize for the two recent outages. It is not the standard that we set ourselves and please rest assured that these issues are being treated with the utmost severity.
The two outages were independent of each other, please find some details regarding them below:
Last week’s issue was caused by a routing problem on our infrastructure. When we restarted the routing device we were able to bring the site back up. A fix has been released to prevent this happening again.
Last night was triggered by an issue in our Feeds platform system. It locked up our events tables, which in turn stopped our market manager system from being able to manage our in-play markets. As such, we had to disable betting and splash the site until this lock up was resolved.
Once again please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this caused and if you require any further information please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Why can't they just tweet these explanations / updates?BetScalper wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 6:09 pmIt doesn't cost anything to send an email, so why not send it to all funded account holder's ?
I understand that the premium level traders generate a lot of commission for Betfair but I think its bang out of order that only a select few get this kind of information while everybody else has to make do with 'We're sorry for the inconvenience' .

Agreed, and it unfortunately just reinforces Peter's earlier point on the complacency creeping in, with regards to how little they feel there's a need to do to keep the average Joe punter/trader sticking around, no matter what (low) level of service they provide. Also speaks to a breakdown in communication somewhere, as to priorities of customer segments. Clearly PC customers are important. I maintain though that PC is not just a method of bleeding big winners dry, but also an attempt to keep money in the "ecosystem" longer rather than the most successful pulling money out, and this level of communication doesn't recognize and support that strategy.Trader Pat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 6:16 pmWhy can't they just tweet these explanations / updates?BetScalper wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 6:09 pmIt doesn't cost anything to send an email, so why not send it to all funded account holder's ?
