Seeing spoofing on Sunshine Coast
Agreed and at Moonee Valley. I find it really spoils the markets.

Really looking forward to see Avilius in the next at Rosehill. Thought the horse was so impressive last time out. 1.9 I think could look a very big price in 30 minutes!
Good pick :) Yes re spoofing-resulted in my best trade on a bad day though- I suspected I was seeing it and hung in until the big amount disappeared and caught the bounce. Some crazy moves today

I have found today to be good, Rosehill has been excellent but I have really struggled at Moonee Valley. Things pick up in terms of quality from next weekend for the next couple of months.

8 out of 8 at Rosehill, you couldn't lose if you tried! Only my chicken dinner stopped me from trading all 9. :D

On average races probably jump 50 seconds late here in Aus which is fairly pathetic. There's obvious outliers (including waiting for another race) which are beyond the control of barrier staff, but how hard is it to run races on time? I wonder if they jump so late for betting reasons as it give punters a couple of minutes to see horses and rush to get their bets on?
One of the main reasons they are so late in the UK is that the vast majority of the courses don't make any effort to get horses to the start well in advance. Then on the flat courses the stall handlers make little effort to start loading before the start time. So many courses see the race time as they time to start loading rather than for the race to actually start.

The UK is not run professionally at the majority of tracks and the staff should be ashamed, particularly at courses like Newmarket and Sandown.

It is going to be a lot bigger issue that comes to light next year when RUK has more courses as at the moment a lot of the clashes are split across the TV channels so go unnoticed by the presenters.
I think UK courses being generally larger than Australian courses will have some impact. We have straight miles here, not sure about Australia but I don't recall seeing a straight mile over there. Newmarket is 2.25 miles and not even a circuit - it's L-shaped so the long distance races are a fair way for the horses to travel.

You would think it was Cheltenham not the last race on the card at Moonee Valley with the amounts being put in and pulled constantly. You would think there would be no trouble to get matched but trying to get my small 3 figure stake matched without the market running scared was near impossible.

Is that typical of Moonee Valley? I don't know why but I've never traded that meeting.

Favourites really struggled to drift today, almost everything (at the big meetings) stayed within a range

Do Aussie bets take longer to show up on your account? Just traded the 8.15 - it's on the betfair log but apparently not on my account.

Am I being dense somehow?

I see on my account the trades aren't settled. Is that why? Aussie racing just takes longer to settle?

They usually get settled pretty quickly in my account: both my Balance updated and the race showing up in the Betting Profit/Loss page.

BTW, I just wanted to mention that the excellent William Hill Betting Shop TV often shows both Australian horse and greyhound races in the morning after 8AM. The delay is about 10 seconds.

For whatever reason, Betfair are usually lightning quick at settling Aussie markets, it the UK where they're slow.

Mine caught up. Cheers for replies

Given that I have a 100% record in Aussie racing, and am now up £1.10, can someone offer some advice about the premium charge?

This is easy!
