PS

I wonder whether the decline in racing's popularity is due to its image.

Just has football has gone from being primarily a working man's game to one enjoyed by men and women from all walks of life, I think racing needs to encourage people who aren't in its core demographics to take an interest.

A good start would be to change the way racing is presented on TV. Surely it must be possible to make racing interesting and accessible to people who know nothing about it, without alienating people who've been fans for years.

And I wish commentators would stop going on constantly about drifters and steamers. By the time a strong move is reported on the TV, chances are the value has already disappeared. And if I want to know what horses have been drifting and steaming, I can check oddschecker.com.

What do you guys think?

Jeff
