I am having an absolute nightmare with the prices freezing, using BT as my ISP, I have tried absolutely everything including using my laptop and windows XP but there is still this price refresh delay and there is no way I can trade, and I'm a beginner! It's a pain in the rear totally as I am really starting to get the hang of it and now I have this to contend with . any ideas anyone ?

I am having problems with BT also. Doesn't anybody who doesn't use BT have a problem?

I'm with BT and it's shocking yet again. Really fed up with it. Time to find another ISP

the problem you have is every company apart from virgin uses the bt network. They might have some of their own equipment in the telephone exchange but they still use bt's network. They just buy bandwidth wholesale off bt and sell it at a premium to you the end user!

Yesterday evening it seemed OK again for a bit but then went back to crap again . I checked it this morning and it seemed OK so let's see how it goes today . If everyone is theoretically using BT surely everyone should have the same problem.

Not sure but I think they have their own routers and DNS servers and stuff, so even though it's on the same network as BT it goes through different boxes...

But I could be wrong...

Everything was OK in the beginning of the day, come 4.00 and it started freezing again , So something definitely triggers it .

It was terrible for me early on friday, but fine yesterday. It may be that at times there are problems connecting BT networks to betfair efficiently which causes problems for groups of people, but at other times it may be more local issues for individuals (especially when certain ISPs limit usage when a lot of people are sharing the contention in the local area), which makes the whole thing hard to diagnose. I emailed beftair about it on Friday and they are yet to get back to me with an answer, nice to know where all that premium charge cash is being put to good use!

The BDP team work on a skelton staff, ie. one person over the weekend as I understand it so you will never hear anything from them over the Weekend.

They have their own routers in the exchange usually if the exchange has been unbundled. DNS servers just tell your browser where to go. It still go's through bt's physical network whoever you are with whther you are using their routers in the exchange or not

There seems to be quite a lot of people seeing issues on the API today and Peter asked me to suggest on here that people try connection mode 1 as that seems to be running better.

The BDP page is currently saying there is a degraded service:
