I was trading Marseille v Rennes (8pm kick-off)
At 7.10pm it was suspended, but all other bookmakers still had the market open
With 20mins to go I phoned betfair asking what's happened - they informed me heavy rain had postponed the match until tomorrow.
However, they re-opened the market at 7.40pm with the same start time as before. Clearly traders were panicking to get off as Marseille drifted from 1.71 to 1.90 in a panic to lay off
They shouldn't have re-opened the market at 7.40, they should have waited until 9ish, making it clear there was another 24 hours to kick-off
It's what angers me with Betfair - when they fuck up, it costs us money & we have absolutely no comebacks at all

Do you think that the fact the market was re-opened was due to pressure from the bookies and or the high rollers. If the match had been suspended that will leave a lot of people exposed to further risk if they are then to be taken advantage of. I would have thought that in a case like that then the fair thing to do would be to void those those bets that were still open or cancel refund and reschedule. But I can see how complicated that would be.

thats not half as bad as when they suspend an in play market cos they have lost pictures or some other technical malfunction, with no prior warning. Ive been left very exposed in trading by this on many occasions. its not as bad as it used to be a couple of years ago, when at one point i stopped trading altogether because of it.

BF is runned by pirates....when you trade on betfair you should always remember that BF soon or later will make you lose money without warnings..it`s on their terms and condtions...last thursday or wedn I have almost lost 1.4k because they decided to suspend a greek game without warnings. It was a miracle that no-goals were scored on 1st half. When they reopened the market on 1st half break I made a fortune but, my heart was break in piece
