Has anyone read this book (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Automatic-Excha ... im_sbs_b_4)?

Does it contain strategies that will allow you to profit without any human intervention?

Reading the amazon reviews I'd say no

"As Magee acknowledges, it does not show how to find the strategies in the first place. "

And it's written in perl, be able to get exactly the same info from the bdp site at a guess.

Hi Jeff
Yes I have it..
I read it on the beach whilst on holiday last year...and the missus couldn't believe that I could read something "So Boring!"..
Its a great book; but very technical. (if you read through it, it give you an idea how Colin builds a bot from the ground up, and an interesting section on how he forms a tissue price). So the answer to your question is yes. Caveat: You will need to put LOTS of effort in to get to that stage...

In my opinion you would be better using Betangel with Excel (perhaps linked in to the Massey Website..?, not to give too much away, I hasten to add! ), unless you want to spend the next 12 months learning coding.

I wrote to the author - Colin Magee and exchanged a few emails with him. He is a really nice person and very helpful.. (he runs a web site called betwise)

Thanks Peter

Just had a look at his website. His selections service (http://www.betwise.co.uk/smart_markets) looks pretty impressive, judging by the results (http://www.betwise.co.uk/smart_markets_pandl).

Hi all,

A small request from a battered forum admin.

To prevent the size of the forum database growing exponentially and to help people scrolling through pages and pages of posts, there is no need to quote the previous post when replying to it!

We can see it...!

Thanks

Hi Admin

I'll hold my hands up - I included a bit too much text in that instance.

But I do think it's often helpful to include some text from the message you're replying to, as it makes it easy for the reader to see which point(s) and which post you're addressing.
