Delayed race ran at 07.14

In the great bot wars - anytime races drop back pretty much doubles my profit on that meeting from thereon. That suggests to me many other bots are very tight around the set off time. In fact you can witness all this in the lead up to the off time even when manual traders know the event is delayed.
Cause bots owners too lazy to work out this situation, me to btwgazuty wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 11:50 amIn the great bot wars - anytime races drop back pretty much doubles my profit on that meeting from thereon. No really, all this delayed and false starts are a pain in the ass from programming workflow perspective.

Wouldn't be surprised at that in the slightest, I keep meaning to do a simple pnl check of late settlement against start times to see just how much these delayed meetings cost megazuty wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 11:50 am

Well there is a maximum amount that can be produced as all green at the switch to in play. That all green is spread between those of us following a strategy of ending up all green. There are of course other strategies that are not all green, that may or may not produce long term profits. Some bots are not going for all green strategies.
Why my profits increase if the event is delayed is because (in my view) I am taking money off people who mainly don't participate in markets until nearish the actual start (not the advertised start) although often times those things are the same and some of the other bots that would otherwise have taken money from those people have ceased to operate after a period of delay, leaving more of that money for me. In any case that is my theory/ explanation.
It may or may not be an opportunity for others, of course, that probably means less for me because this is a closed set zero sum game my friends.
Their metro meeting is usually 8 minutes in front of Melbourne's so it's not a big loss for me really (happens again on Melb. cup day)
Amazes me how they can ask for more money though with the quality of Qld racing so far behind

The QLD government have decided to go with a 15% Point of Consumption tax, bringing in an estimated extra $70million this year, of which they have said none will be put back into racing..... hence the strike
