Here is the graph of my drama last Saturday. Still ended up ok.
Australian racing
occassionaly follow the AUS racing but due to other commitments have been unable to get involved. just wanted to ask (n00b question alert) is this week a special high volume week (given the amopunt of activity going on)??
in short, is activity picking up generally in the AUS markests and is there a window for some targetted automation here..

Its higher than normal due to the Melbourne Cup which is/was on last Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday, and this Saturdayjimibt wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 9:36 amoccassionaly follow the AUS racing but due to other commitments have been unable to get involved. just wanted to ask (n00b question alert) is this week a special high volume week (given the amopunt of activity going on)??

The big day (Melbourne cup was run) was Tues so that was very busy
I never bothered with last night as there didn't look to be much to stay up for and opted to wait for Saturday for my next session, from what Euler posted and the (lack of) thread activity it was indeed very quiet as expected.
I only stay up to trade Aus markets manually when there are some big races one but its defo worth running automation on (a many do), having said that its not something I'd done before but its peaked my interest this year so it's going to be one of my winter projects to get something setup myself which I can run on a few days of the week
dallas, snap. the zeitgeist for the AUS racing seems to be about right at present. think it's time to let rip wih a toe dip!!Dallas wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 10:06 amIts higher than normal due to the Melbourne Cup which is/was on last Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday, and this Saturdayjimibt wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 9:36 amoccassionaly follow the AUS racing but due to other commitments have been unable to get involved. just wanted to ask (n00b question alert) is this week a special high volume week (given the amopunt of activity going on)??

Australian Racing is enjoying a golden period ,stayed up for most of last night , enjoyed Flemington and was nice to see old Thermal Current back in the winners enclosure, and some decent racing at Hawkesbury,
Re your zeitgeist comment .. Aussie Racing is riding high, even tho it still has many issues to deal with ( tho still not a fan of the Everest, and Racing NSW wanted it declared a public holiday !!), decent coverage, live video or plenty of decent radio stations , a wealth of free stats and info. Racing is good , lots of ex British horses racing out there , mainly over staying trips, to give added interest to those who study and enjoy racing as well as trade.
Oh and there’s Winx !! .. It was that wonderful mare Sunline who got me interested in Aussie Racing ..and sure she would have given Winx a race .. And suspect Winx has made others interested in the sport over there in a similar way
In many respects much better than uk flat racing ..and with small stakes you can get by on most markets at the smaller tracks
Pleased more are showing an interest in it

i'm honestly thinking along the lines of Halliday - small stakes across the board with a view to learning the caveats vs the UK flat. this is definitely a case where automation could work pretty well, having looked at a few over the past 3-4 days (hence my current interest)
Can’t say it “ floats my boat”but there is big money in harness racing over there , was reading that the horse thar won the Miracle Mile at Mengale last year had topped $2.5 million in prize money, but the record is in excess of 4.5million.
Would be interested to know how much is turned over by tab and bookies in harness racing over there, compared to fiat racing, and how popular it is as a spectator sport and if it get much tv airtime
The Aussie greyhound markets seem to be more popular then the harness ones
There always plenty of meetings; and a variation of track characteristics, to keep it interesting . And some competitive and open markets not just at the metropolitan meetings but at the smaller country tracks to. Just wish they had more staying races.jimibt wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 10:44 ami'm honestly thinking along the lines of Halliday - small stakes across the board with a view to learning the caveats vs the UK flat. this is definitely a case where automation could work pretty well, having looked at a few over the past 3-4 days (hence my current interest)
I certainly enjoy it

Welcome to the forum , tho I suspect your initial posts havnt done you any favours
In what respect have you “ gotten the Aus bug “, and what is your knowledge of austrailian racing and the markets .
Do you use automation , and what markets do you trade and how do you trade them.
Impressions from your initial negative posts, display an alarming lack of knowledge and understanding.
And you ain’t going to get much help if your posts continue to be in the same vein .
Still early days
Thats a bit pot kettle is it not?Halliday wrote: ↑Fri Nov 09, 2018 3:38 amWelcome to the forum , tho I suspect your initial posts havnt done you any favours

half the posts you make are either to have a dig at someone or when you are expressing your opinion that they are and I quote a walter mitty or are otherwise full of it in someway!
Only this morning I seen you post on another thead out the blue trying drag up a months old of someone being exposed as not what they pretended to be. I guess this is your exclusive right...
I wont bother responding to the rest of your reply as I don't think they are genuine and dont want to drag any threads off topic in pointless tit for tats so we'll end it here
Another early start to the racing tonight/morning. Looking forward to it, think it will be a good session, I just need to be careful not to get carried away trading the NSW meetings having used up some of my 24 race allowance already.
Plenty of European interest tonight at Flemington.
I will be swerving the UK/Irish evening racing in order to get some sleep before the Oz session.
