Hi all,
I am constantly hearing the term "weak" with reference to horses and markets but I'm struggling to find what defines a weak horse, especially favorites.
What do you look for when entering a market to decide if something is weak?
"Weak"
Very little money as in <£100k matched 5 mins out?
Also what exactly would be a minimum for a strong market?
Competitive/Uncompetive markets. Field size.
Strong Fav - is this odds on Fav, is short fav always less than 2.0.
Is there a matrix that would include all racetracks explaining each race type with a definition for each race to quickly identify which markets are likely to be Strong, Weak, Volalite, Solid, and therefore leading us to how we should be likely to trade each race, including seasonality.
A spreadsheet with each race profiled would be very helpful. I am about to start one myself but if there is one floating about it would save alot of time and effort.

My Favourite Definition:
- At least 2 odds lower than 2nd favourite
- Volume matched is the highest of all the runners
But like Derek said, who knows.

Thank you for clearing that up Peter.
So you can only define a weak market once you have tried to enter the market? I would like to know before hand or is it something you define when you arrive in the market 10-5 mins before the off.
