Glad to see him go. Had to be done before the January transfer window. He's a good manager but was never the right fit for United. It's been dire. We're desperate for someone who lets them have a go, win, lose or draw.

Was really pleased to see the club say the next man will follow our attacking philosophy. Some we're happy with it but the majority of United fans i know don't work all week to go and watch a tactical 1-0 at the weekend. We want to see the lads go for it and generate abit of passion in the crowd.

Not sure who we'll get in the interim and if they do a cracking job it could make the summer trickier but i'd love to see Pochettino come in next summer. All down to Levy that i suppose.

Of course it wasn't just a defeat @ Liverpool that tipped the balance it was the manner of defeat...equates to worse than a 3-1 scoreline..

A complete capitulation in a game where their motivation should be massive.

Utd should be aiming for Pochettino but Levy wouldn't let him go on the cheap. Don't buy into Poch not being interested, he flashed his cleavage at Real pretty hard when they showed an interest.

They should avoid any ex Utd players as none of them have been proven good enough to manage a mid table Premier league team let alone Utd.

Don't understand why they didnt wait til the end of the season to sack him, gonna cost them even more now and its not as if another manager is going to guide them into the top 4. As a Liverpool fan I'm glad they sacked him AFTER the game and not before it but I'll be sad to see him go, that's very likely to be the last we'll see of Mourinho in the Premier League

As for Jose he'll enjoy his Xmas and could end up back at Inter who've already made the signing of the year in Beppe Marotta as the new CEO and Spalletti is under pressure after being knocked out of the Champions League.

The January transfer window is why they made the decision now. Talk of players leaving if he stayed plus the board didn't want to back him anyway so his demeanor and the situation would have only gotten more negative. Now all that pressure is released.

Hopefully the squad can start to play to their potential so we can see who is actually good enough and who isn't. Then signings wise look to poach proven Premier League players over taking a punt on expensive unproven ones.

I'd hate to be women at your christmas parties if that's flashing cleavage ;) Poch has always said, he hates the modern way of the press and social media. Most of his replies to any and all things in press conferences are pretty much down the middle, so he was was never going to say anything to certain either way. All that was and is important is that his immidiate staff and players knows that he remains loyal to the current situation. The press will go nutter butters speculating no matter what he does and doesn't say.

A little known fact is that he doesn't have an agent. So he's harder to tap up than your average manager. Also he negotiates new contracts on behalf of his three primary staff members. And does so before his own terms are allowed to be put on the table. Apart from how highly it speaks to their trust in his loyalty, it also means that United would have to pay compesation for four key personel all likely to be on high salaries. And negotiate it with Levy. Good luck I say.

Do you think Pogba will stay? Or do you think he's 'doing a Neymar'... waiting to move on somewhere else for a big transfer fee and a huge signing on fee?

I didnt know any of that! Only reason I mentioned his cleavage (apart from my own obsession) is when he was asked about reports linking him with Madrid he just randomly threw out there that he could never manage Barcelona because of his affinity to Espanyol.

Why dont Utd bring back Moyes as caretaker? They're still paying him and he's 5 months left on his contract! :D

Personally, despite everything and i can see why Fergie let him go, i'd like to see him stay because behind all the BS i think there's a really good player in there. The player we saw at the world cup for France we've rarely seen in a United shirt, if ever. If not, whatever his reasons for being an arse are then there's no point building a team around him anyway and better to let him go.

Very, considering his only previous experience in the PL ended horribly at relegated Cardiff

I guess they are trying to bag a decent manager, but in the interim, it could go quite badly.

+1 thought the same and also when Carrick also mentioned, would have been better with Mark Hughes or Steve Bruce if going down that route.

We'll see I suppose, Xmas fixture list is kind for Man Utd (on paper!)
