Interesting stuff, but unlikely you could do this on Betfair.

Fascinating stuff, many simularities with betfair. I wonder if it would be possible to gain enough knowledge about the bots to manipulate them? Say you were in a position where you wanted to sell some stock, maybe it would be possible to put in a few buy orders at once to trigger the bots to buy themselves and move the price up substantially before selling the stock you already hold much higher.

On betfair I made a bot linking up Betangel to excel which would trigger a back bet automatically if a huge amount came into the market (basically to catch moves at their start when the mad bomber was about), but had to modify it significantly when I realised that spoofers can and do trigger bots that work on WOM. Although I must confess that the algorithms that go into my bots are probably somewhat less sophisticated than what they're doing on Wall Street ;)
