hi guys,
wondering if any of you can shed some light on this. was trading the horses today and had an open trade unmatched, it was close to the off so i clicked the take sp button, but just before the race went inplay, my stake was matched and i redded out for a £3 loss on the race. but, as soon as the race went inplay my screen showed a loss of £163 on all horses but one, and £835 green on the one selection. obviously somehow betangel automatically placed a bet of £160 pounds on a certain selection. the only thing i can think of is that as i was using £80 stakes, perhaps i had two positions unmatched that were sitting away from the current price, and because i clicked the take sp button, these two stakes were matched as the race went inplay. no chance to trade out as the selection fell at the first!!!

Did you go in-play in the previous race?

If you did, and there was a non-runner, then after the race Betfair may apply a Rule 4 deduction to pre-start bets & lays.

So it may be that Betfair decided that your last bet or lay had to be cancelled, due to insufficient funds (even if it actually reduced your liability!).

When I once found myself unable to close a trade because of this kind of malarkey, and took a loss, Betfair refunded my loss as a goodwill gesture.

did you use the bookmaking feuture or the Dutching feuture, if you did, use it with caution..dont ever try to green up in PLAY? Yesterday for the 1st time I had loss as well On correct score I clicked on green up as usuall but, this time I had 3 bets matched on 1000/1 on markets that were not available anymore 0-0 1-0 0-1 so I find all other results in red. from £5 profits I had £1 pound loss. I managed to recover it on 1st half break.
