I've been gambling & trading on BetFair for more than 2 years (but not professionally) but I'm still losing money on the game.

Actually, is there anyone successful in trading or gambling on Betfair, at least making some profit (not necessary big bucks)?

I think it is still only the insiders who can make money, just like the stocks markets.

Please let me know yr experience and opinions. :?:

I'm making a consistent profit on a daily basis. It took a long road for this to happen. Fortunately or unfortunately I haven't been charged with the PC, but I think I'll be the near future.

I don't gamble, btw ;)

Hi, been winning regular thanks to Betangel, 34 winning months out of the last 36. It's my full time job, and it can be full time. I don't gamble as such, just trade in and out of markets real quick, take a profit, move on. PC is a pain though, trying all sorts of tricks to get round it, like trading off through Betdaq, just not the liquidity there yet.

Keep at it, find a method which works for you and stick with it, take a profit, even if only small, it all adds up. Also keep the discipline.
Good luck.

Me too, been full time since July 2006, spent a couple of years previous doing my "apprenticeship", been using BA all that time.

Winning consistently isn't easy, but it is achievable with patience and discipline. Keep at it my friend.

ta, hate to say it it will be A HAPPY DAY WHEN I WILL BE IN THE PREMIUM CHARGE AREANA,
ANY ADVISE ON THE SIZE OF STAKES, I WANT TO TRY AND MAKE 20 TO 50.00 PER RACE?

DO PEOPLE TRADE THE FAVOURITE OR WOULD YOU TRADE 7/10% SELECTION

ON AVERAGE LET SAY YOU HAD A SWING TRADE, WOULD YOU TRY AND CATCH A ANOTHER OR WHAT KIND OF AVERAGE NUMBER OF SWING TRADES IN A RACE THAT ONE WOULD GET, THIS IS ALL PRE RACE QUESTIONS,

IS THERE ANY RACES THAT ARE A DEFINTE NO GO AREA

You need to reset expectations £50 a race would be £1000 a day, that would put you in the elite bracket. Aim from breakeven first and then build out once you have found something that works for you.

It definitely possible to make a very healthy living on BF but the first thing you have to do is stop gambling.

I came from a gambling background and found it very difficult to make any consistent profits. The first thing you have to realise is that trading and gambling do not mix. Letting trades go in play is gambling unless you have access to super fast SIS pics and are willing to trade out but the vast majority of IP punters dont. And you'll never make a succesful trader if you consistently let your trades go in play.

I had to completely alter my mindset before I could make any headway in trading. Unfortunately it took a few months and cost me a pretty penny but once I did things started to come together. Once I had eliminated the gambling instincts and urges when trading, only then could I move forward and its taken me just over 7 months since then to be able to turn a consistent profit.

I think you need to decide which you want to do (Gamble or trade) and then concentrate on one. The problem is though that trading needs a different set of tools especially discipline.

Good luck

yes 100%, I've been trading full time for 3.5 years, this year my worst week was last week where I broke even, every other week this year I have been in profit not mega bucks but between usualy £200-£1100 a week.
I think your right when It comes to gambling you need an edge or an in to a stable so you have an idea before the race if its fancied or not.
Same would apply to trading you need an edge; mine is Ive spent 3 years learning how the market moves and now I get right more times than I get it wrong.

Thank you for all yr comments.

It's very easy to fall into the gambling side as the profit is comparatively huge. But of course at the end, 1 bad day will take all.

At last and at least, I know it's possible and it all depends on how to do it.
