Been around betfair angel for i while and no matter what i seem to do i cant get it right.

Basically i am on the one click screen on horse racing, if i am backing a horse at say 5.6 and laying against it at 5.4 i should obviously be making a profit, however i never see these profits appear in my account, so what am i doing wrong?

for example now I am currently doing Dund and am backing Oversighted with a £60 bet at 5.7 i have layed against it £60 at 5.3. What should i do from there?

Hi

From what you describe you have backed and layed the selection correctly and you would have made a profit had "Oversighted" won (it didn't hence no profit but No Loss either :D ). You had a "risk free" bet trading the selection, what you needed to do to lock in a guaranteed profit no matter who won was to "green up" the profit made on "Oversighted".

Prior to greening up you will have an amount of profit (or loss) on the selection in the P/L column by the horses name (which will have been green and in the other selections you will have had a 0.00 amount also green)

On the "one click" screen, tick the "Green" button (above trade profit) the value of the amount in the horses selection will now change to a lower amount this is the "hedged or greened" profit that will be spread across the rest of the field. To take that amount and preserve the profit on all positions click any of the the "trade profit" buttons. You then have your profit.

Try it with a lesser stake to get the idea.

i would use the offsetting facility you seem to be offsetting by a few ticks so set to the number you want. but be aware that if you dont use fill or kill both bets are placed at the same time and so one might get filled and another not.if you back and set fill or kill to x seconds the offset only triggers after your bet is filled, if its not matched at the time you specify its cancelled, much safer for you.

Thats fantastic thanks everyone, the only over thing is there anyway i can keep a bet to stay as the race starts, as evrytime a race starts whatever bets i am looking to put on disappear.

Push the Keep button on the price band at bottom of software, be advised thou with this strategy you are going into play, its better to do what you done on your first post and green up

I have a similar question, I was scalping a fast moving football match and made a significant profit laying and backing “draw” result but when I hit the “green up” button, it placed two lay bets, one got matched but other didn’t even though it was way below the current market value. I panicked and cancelled the lay bet only to find my P&L for the draw went into scary negative. Any suggestions as to what I did wrong and why my lay bet wasn’t filled.
