We all know that if you lump two rules together into one ruleset it can lead to problems with the activities on one rule interfering with the rules of another. I have such a problem and am wondering if anyone can help by guiding though a workaround.

I have one rule that runs pre-play and finishes with a 'take BSP' rule 10 secs. before the scheduled off. So when the race starts there are no open bets.

The second rule sprays one bet for each runner immediately the race goes in-play. The odds on these bets are set such that the bets will be unmatched when reaching the market and just sit there waiting to be matched if the odds in running move towards them. When two of these bets are matched I then want to cancel all of the other bets so only the two matched bets remain.

Using 'matched bets on the market = 2" condition worked a treat in trialling the in-running bets but of course that was when it was just that rule being tested so the problem didn't appear until now when I've put the two rules together but having done so the matched bets from the pre-off activity is interfering with the conditions of the in-running rules.

I'm a novice with Signals and a virgin with Stored Values but I wonder if they can be used in some way. The in-running bets are a function of BSP (fixed % for all runners) but I cannot see a way to take BSP, multiply it by a factor and then set an odds parameter based on it. As an alternative I can't see how to count the number or amount of matched bets at the off and if I could then how I can set a condition based on them.

Is this a process for excel or do I need a second BA license and another Betfair account!

You just need to add a 'Checkpoint matched bets' rule at the off (or before any of your IP bets are matched) and that will reset them back to zero when it triggers

Thanks Dallas, I'll give that a try tomorrow.

Dallas, forgot to ask in previous post but just as a point of confirmation does that mean the Matched Bets counter is BA open instance specific i.e. only counts bets it has placed for Matched Bets count or does it ask Betfair how many Matched Bets there are which will include 'other' bets.

Yes, once a checkpoint rule triggers then yes it only resets the count for rules in that instance of BA
