I put a peice up on the blog about backer outsiders, but hadn't expected the thumping West Ham have given Man U. Wigan haven't really been in it at all against Arsenal. Probably time to start backing West Ham in the league after this moral boosting result?

Having looked at the team sheets, when West Ham went 1 up I thought that United may have at least made a fist of it to equalise and score one before throwing in the towel in meaningless competition for them.

If that's their second an a half string side I hope they don't get too many injuries affecting their golden oldies. I will have to see the game highlights as I needed to fix the cat flap which was preferable to watching 20quid go down the swanney. Win 7-1 on Sat and Lose 4-0 on Tues; if it had been racing would their be an inquiry for non-trying  Fergie knows what he's doing!!! anyway well done the 'Ammers

Decided to trade this one..
My game plan was to use large stakes per kick off on Man U, get £30 - £40 green on Man U, then use the profit by scalping WHU (leaving £0 on Man U and the Draw)..(I do this quite often, a bet to nothing, but potentially large upside)...

Anyway it didnt work as Just before Kick Off Man U odds shot up, leaving me about a £24 red..! I was just about to call it a night, then the goal went in...

...BUT did you see what happened to the odds on Man U when the WHU goal went in and it was dis qualified??
Well I just happened to catch it on record :-

Had to laugh when I replayed this...! You could see my mad panic to get my last lay trade in on Man U!!

I Have couple question about this video if possible..1st of all NICE 1..
I only trade on football but, when I go in Play (scalping with the green) it takes 5 to 10 seconds to place the bet and 2 to 5 minutes to get matched even though I am 1st in the queue. How come in your video it takes couple seconds to place the bet and few seconds to get matched ?. I have never seen anything so fast IN PLAY

I had an interesting evening on the football and made two smallish trades.
I switched on the radio at half time on WH vs Man U, saw the score line and immediately backed +2.5 goals with the thought that it is a Cup game but more importantly with the idea that goals beget goals. I was prepared to sit this out for at least twenty minutes but only had to wait eleven. OK so this wasn't strictly a trade.

Switched over to Arsenal game, took a view that there would probably be -2.5 goals but laid that thinking Arsenal might score a second and within 3 minutes I traded out after Bendtner's goal.

I was very pleased with myself.

How did the market get this so wrong ? Personally i was listening on the radio and they said that it had been disallowed. Did the commentators not mention this on sky ?

Hi
I was watching the TV at the time and saw the goal go in...the market suspended, then it was announced that the goal had been disallowed.. just literally milliseconds before; the market was unsuspended.

What I think happens in practice (and I do it myself sometimes) is that you can submit a bet whilst the market still displays "Suspended" so that when your bet reaches the market, it has literally just got back in play.. just anticipating the change from Suspended to In-play..(NB: I dont know this for fact, but it just seems that way. maybe someone knows whether this is rubbish that I am talking!)...

Anyway; Giulio, That seemed a normal response time to me? (I still think it is ~5 Secs ? I dont recall ever having a delay of 10 secs??)
