Price is shortening a bit with the full on charm offensive underway. Could they do a London 2012 and snatch it at the death? I hope they do get it as I'll be getting on a bit in 2026!!

Our bid has been littered with mistakes from the start.

I'm still not sure about using Milton Keynes & Plymouth as venues. With all due respect, these are not well supported clubs. These stadiums will just be white elephants, whilst grounds with bigger support like St Mary's won't be used at all

I'm assuming Russia's drift is due to Putin not bothering to turn up. Sending Prince William might prove to be decisive

It just goes to show how people simply follow money

England have shortened considerably today, but how many of those traders have access to the mindset of FIFA delegates?

The fact England are now favourites on the book means nothing

The voting will be underway soon and England are at 2's. Fingers crossed, would love to see the world cup in England.

I see the market is supended. Surely they don't think the FIFA delegates would try to profit from their postion. :?

Anyway. I layed England at 2/2.02. but hope they get it.

I watched the presentation this morning. Credit to the bid team, fabulous presentation. My thoughts on this tell me the delegates knew who they would vote for weeks ago. It is a bit like the Eurovision song contest. The BBC didn't help much either with Panaorama.

Perhaps we should have slipped them all a few quid :)

Odds of 2?

It's the proof that Betfair is mainly used by English people.

In 2002 the Italian federation among the Spanish Football federation found proves of match fixing within the 2002 world cup ( Fifa delegates and 2 referees recieve a big fat cheque from the south korea federation to make sure south korea have an easy life to progress in the 2002 world cup. The most scandales was when the Italian federation hired an investigator to spy a referee called BYRON MORENO ( see wikipedia). they found out that MR BYRON MORENO recieved a 1million dollars cheque from an unknown origin soon after the end of the WC 2002. He was suspended 15 months in colombia for match fixing allegation and to finish he beutifull career was arrested last september 2010 in NY JFK airport trying to smuggle in 6 kilograms of HEROIN. FIFA never commented on this events but, coincidently ITALY won the 2006 WC and SPAIN won the 2010 WC. For that same concidence I bet ENGLAND will have the 2018 WC after the PANORAMA documentary about FIFA corruption.

Russia have it, well done Russia. You had better get on and build those 14 stadiums, airports and all the other things you don't have yet! ;)

Have to say I am gutted as I would love to watch a world cup on home soil and there is no chance I will get to see it now. We can't win until 2030 and I will be 62 by then!!! A whole generation will not have experianced it.
