It appears the ramifications of Qatar's could be quite serious for European football
It appears they wish to possibly move the World Cup into the spring or Autumn to avaoid life threatening heat. This will obviously clash with the major European Leagues, so I don't think we've heard the last of this. It could even create hostility between FIFA and UEFA - the threat of a boycott from some countries will probably arise at some stage

Hi Folks
Instead of just accepting that FIFA are, and always have been, as corrupt as the Olympic Committee the Countries should boycott the World Cup
Hit them where it hurts in there pockets.
No coincidence that both Committee's are based close to their secret numbered Swiss Bank accounts.
Seems a bit weak to just shrug your shoulders and say they are corrupt but buy into it every 4 years
cheers
Dobbin

Something that caught my eye that none of the pundits seems to be picking up on is the strange fact that if you look at the breakdown of the voting rounds for both world cups, countries that went through to round 2 actually lost votes in the second round compared to round one.
For instance
Round 1
England 2
Holl/Belg 4
Spain/Port 7
Russia 9
Round 2
Holl/Belg 2
Spain/Por 7
Russia 13
So two members who voted for them in the first round actually changed their minds for the second round even though they hadn't been eliminated! Japan also lost a vote in the second round in the 2022 draw compared to the first. Why on earth would you actually change your mind like that if you were behaving in the interests of the sport? It's not like ordering a big mac and then changing your mind when it comes time to pay and asking for some chicken mcnuggetts instead!

It's interesting to remember how the EPL was formed.
England could quite easily approach other major football federations with a view to resigning from FIFA and starting a new body
Sure it's caused chaos in Darts, but the look on Sepp Blatter's face if countries like England withdrew from the World Cup so they could take part in a rival one would be a picture
