krunic tsurenko has been a a shower of epic proportions the entire match, happy to see they've continued the madness today.

krunic unwilling to attack at any cost, tsurenko making out she's practically dead at the end of each game.. interestingly, it tends to happen most within krunic's eye line.. totally bizarre match.
Crazy match, glad one didn't just come out and win 2 quick games
classic example of a match where no one (apart from me on this occasion) is willing to back any short prices near the death, because it's just too nuts for them.. ridiculous that Tsurenko went through, more madness in her next match.

Well done mate, it takes good judgement and balls to see that through

I always struggle to back at short odds no matter what the situation is

Disappointed with the way I traded the Konta match.
Almost from the start made a cock up the rest was all about damage limitation

....and then not. Mentally threw the towel. I find it such a curious case that the majority of players with this tendency to completely implode and mentally zone out are from Russia and the rest of the old Eastern bloc. Anyone able to satisfy my curiousity and know whether there's something cultural which may be behind it? If I didn't know better, I would have thought those from more "secure" backgrounds and better (overall) living standards, the US/Western Europe/Australia, would be more prone to throwing a fit, when things are quite working.

At a guess...as we know any sport is about confidence...I would say it's because players from the Eastern bloc are very used to being 'beaten down'..by State police etc. So when things start going badly...it's largely what they have learnt to expect...so their confidence drains away...which makes matters far worse. While Western players have far more confidence/resilience...as they expect to succeed. After all...top sports people who excel at their sport...are not part of the 'Snowflake brigade' that we hear so much about!

Osaka now lost her opening set in all 3 rounds

Is she about to do another comeback?
