Betfair spreadsheets

I've downloaded a spreadsheet of my betting activity for today.

I wanted to total up my stakes, but the SUM function doesn't work on the spreadsheet. I'm guessing this is something to do with the green arrow in the top left corner of the relevant cells.

Does anyone know the fix to this problem?

you need to convert the figures to numbers.

Just in case anyone else wants to do this, you begin by entering the number 1 into a blank cell. You then enter Ctrl+C to copy the cell.

Then highlight the cells you want to convert, right click and select 'Paste Special', tick the 'Multiply' option, then click OK.

Voila!

I'm sure there must be a good reason why Betfair can't supply spreadsheets with numbers in number format...

You can also use =VALUE(A1) to convert from text to number format.
