A phrase I've just heard is on June 7th "she'll announce she is going to stand down as leader - once a suitable replacement has been found"

Which is saying she's officially announcing on that date she will leave but only once a new PM has been elected to take her place
...correct - by announcing on the 7th June she is standing down it will allow a Conservative leadership contest to begin - TM will remain as both Conservative Leader AND PM until she is replaced at the end of the leadership contest - she will 'officially' cease to be the Conservative leader when her successor is officially announced following the leadership contest Conservative members vote on the final 2.

This is another reason I love the politics markets, everytime there's a news anouncement people who don't understand the rules of the game jump in. 17th May...

Add to that the fact that in the tory party's current hierarchy, there's no actual position of deputy PM to act as a stand-in (and there hasn't been since Clegg), so she'll have to cling on as leader in name only, right up until the new PM's coronation. You're right though about her going asap but the paperwork is why Jul-Sep is the hot fav.

Reports that May could delay her resignation if her successor doesn't 'Command the confidence of the house' - which could be the case if BoJo or Raab wins

Aug Deptature currently trading at 34s

She and the other 649 MP’s should be taken to the Tower of London and await their fate by being hung, drawn and quartered.

I would open a bottle of Rum and smoke a Havana or two and lose no sleep whatsoever.

I don't agree with May's politics, but have been astonished by her reslience. As for Bojo. Anyone willing to pitch us into WTO is a total pratt.

i think most modern politicians are self righteous, self promoting pratts. Being a pratt does not not concern me as it is their default position.

i really dont understand how a blatant 2 faced, serial lying cowson could ever be a contender as a future prime minister, how can that be? there is no fecking self respect anymore, what the feck as happened to this country when a blatant unprincipled liar as a chance of becoming prime minister.
