Betfair have Chelsea as favourites to win the Premiership, with United second.
Is it just me, or have they got this the wrong way around?
Chelsea obviously have problems in the dressing room, whereas United are beginning to hit their stride after a stuttering start.

Agreed. United IMHO should be shorter than Chelsea who clearly have problems in the camp and are suffering from a small squad.
Whilst Ferguson clearly doesn't know his best starting 11, the size of the squads will benefit them once we get towards the business end of the season when United are traditionally strong.
Chelsea were flattered early on with their relatively easy fixtures and unless they turn things round quickly I can't see them retaining the title.

Yeah absolute madness, alot of people seem to have some crazy obsession with Chelsea as evident with the ammount of people saying that they were going to run away with it this season.
i had around 5-6 bets on utd in the 4-6 range don't think im going to be laying off yet though.

I did an article at the start of the season about winners and relegation. There are some strong correlations and these point to a Chelsea / Man Utd - 1/2. But I think it's pretty close to call TBH. Chelsea never seem to have a stable situation but, on paper, Man Utd are the weaker team.

Not sure I agree that United are the weaker team on paper, particularly with Chelsea's current injury list.

Hi Dave
If neither side has any injuries, they're both extremely good. But whereas Chelsea's reserves could beat most teams' starting 11, Man U have to rely on players like Smalling and Fletcher when the big guns are injured.
I think the big problem Chelsea face is with team morale. Something has clearly happened to affect team morale (Ray Wilkins's sacking at half time during a match would be my guess).
Another advantage Man U have is in the way the club is managed, which means that the manager can't be undermined by the board. In the words of Ancelotti:
"Ferguson ... has total control of the team. I have just the technical direction, full stop."

I think Ancelotti will soon be out the door.
But the underlying problem will remain: the fact that the manager is not in control of all football-related matters.
Before taking the job, Ancelotti should have said 'If Chelsea don't deliver, then you can sack me. But until then, just give me a budget, and let me do my job without interference.'

It looks increasingly like the writing is on the wall for Ancelotti: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 270313.stm
I've emailed Betfair to suggest they open a market on 'Next Chelsea manager'. They have one for 'Next Man United manager', so it isn't necessarily the case that they have to wait for Ancelotti to announce his departure.
My money would be on Chris Hughton - he's available, he did a great job at Newcastle, and the reaction from Newcastle's players to his sacking shows he commands respect in the dressing room.
