Now where is that number for the ASA?
I argued this with Mark Davies - he said Red Bull state that Red Bull gives you wings, but just because it doesn't doesn't mean it is false advertising much how on the football ads Betfair state that you get better prices because you are betting punter v punter. Can't remember Mark's exact words but basically he said there was no case to answer and they can say one thing on an ad but in reality what is happening is another thing. Hence my earlier comment on the thread about BF wanting to have their cake and eat it.

Andy,

Slightly off topic, but I'm a little surprised that bookmakers haven't done more to tackle Betfair by offering an alternative to BF's major strength...laying

No bookie seems to have offered a flip to their books by giving punters the chance to back a losing selection, as well as the traditional winning selection

Ladbrokes I think it was did offer this for a very short period but withdrew it - not sure why. They do effectively offer it on all 2 outcome markets obviously not that they like to point that out.

I think the main reason they haven't done it though is as soon as they do they can't use that line to beat the exchanges with. They really should have imo setup their own exchange but the argument was it went against their core business but imo the exchange and normal punting is often 2 very different type of customer. There was a lot of talk at one stage of Ladbrokes I think it was buying out Betdaq or something along those lines.

I carn't see why the bookies don't have that option either, i mean you can do it by dutching anyway, so why not have the option to make it easyier :?
