ICC World Cup - England and Wales 2019
In this world cup on these wickets with a bit in them for the bowlers that sounds like a good strategy...… not many big successful run chases so far....

There you go, Starc comes on, breaks the partnership and clean bowls the number 10...wearthefoxhat wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 5:31 pmYep, that's important for sure..as well as the fielding captain keeping enough overs back for his better bowlers to rain down on the tail enders.
Do you envisage soon switching to cricket when it is on and away from manual horse racing?
If I understood correctly the reason you haven't looked at cricket really in the past was that in the course of a cricket match you could trade X number of races and therefore expect to make £x amount.
Though now with cricket markets being so big that they can accommodate your potentially very large stakes you could make more from manually trading cricket than manually trading horse racing.

Never thought of that, always thought not worth backing at 1.04, never thought of laying for a bounce. Found your thought too late this time but wow, what a bounce that would have been. That's changed the way I will look at 'certs' in the future in ODI's, an ideal market to play that tactic. It's interesting to see how the pure trader looks at the game compared to the cricket lover … that taught me a lot, need to try and detach myself in the future.
So to try and return a favour … the market can change significantly in the last 2-4 overs. I don't know how detailed your database is but if you can have a look at the range of runs scored in the last few overs. Scoring at 10 an over or more in the last few overs when you know it's a sh1t or bust is quite regular. Probably the most significant event was Windies beating England in the 20/20 World Cup final in 2016. They needed 19 to win from the last over and Carlos Brathwaite said that was 2 balls more than he needed … he hit 4 sixes of the first 4 balls and the Windies won with 2 balls to spare. It was the cricket equivalent of the 1.01 runner losing! Anyway Euler thanks again for your little snippet.
