The moving camera angle at the Sandown start is so satisfying to watch
It makes the UK coverage look like it's from the 80's and the racing.com stream is free and crystal clear too.

25 week is pretty restrictive.
The UK coverage is dire compared to elsewhere in the world, particularly in Oz.

RUK did try some behind the stalls cameras a year or two ago but they don't use them any more. I thought they were great, much better than the head on camera of the stalls where you can't see the horses.

Considering how much RTV costs you would think it would be much better.

We get a picture of a man holding a flag in the air on the jumps, not even the horses.

I really like the helicopter shot at Flemington when the horses start.

Rosehill R5 market very sluggish for me but my ping looks fine.

Anyone else?

Streaming is getting extremely sticky, I'm switching to polling.

If I traded more than 24 NSW markets the turnover charge would wipe out a large chunk of my profits, on a not so good week it would be more than my profits!

I used to get free £5 exchange bets (if I place an exchange bet that loses without trading it), I once got a £20 bet. I thought it might have been because I was arbing last year and sometimes had a losing week but I was given a free bet this year! I think it's quite random.
Cheers Derek, yep the TO charge spoils things but they do take quite a hit on it as you say.
I think the sudden generocity is down to my turnover, this year I've gone from not a lot to about 80 grand a day spread over about 300 horse/dog win & place markets. Obv v.v.v.small margins.

Drone shots, rock steady long views, horse sequence graphics, meanwhile while we get a man on some wobbly scaffolding with rain on the lens.

They are going to be showing Royal Ascot this week coming btw. I will be checking out their coverage to see how it compares to the UK coverage.

Slow mo finishes straight away with a freeze on the line from the rail, followed with a frame by frame aerial shot of the finish, straight away followed by the head on.

Interviews with all the jockeys as they come in after a big race each giving a quick review of their race. When the UK jocks go out they have no issue doing it, in fact Ryan Moore says more than the Oz races usually.

I noticed ITV have started to do it as well but most jockeys just walk past or just give a one word answer and the presenter in the UK says the jocks name as they can't remember which horse they rode most of the time. In Oz they give the jock and horse.

It is like night v day.

The most infuriating thing about our coverage is the in-race in-helmet shots and the ground camera shots of horses running round the bend coming out of Swinley Bottom. Spectacular shots for people not interested in racing but the rest of us want to watch the race.

I really like how in Oz and Dubai the commentator is in direct communication with the starter/stewards, love it when Terry Spargo says 'Studio' and then gets an update all of which is being live broadcasted to the public. So is alerted what is going on about withdrawals and horses being vetted immediately.

UK they have to guess what is happening. Can't be that hard can it to create a communication link?

g'nite all, i think i'm done.
Usual shock coming up of leaving my darkened room to see it's bright daylight outside, I do it every day but it always feels odd.

loool. I've been trading the greyhounds a lot recently and can't recall which track it is but some geezer has to hold up a whiteboard up in front of the camera in front with the race details on. Talk about ghetto setups.

That market at Gold Coast was just laughable

I suspect the usual shock of the API going down this afternoon's coming up. Happens every week but it still feels odd.
