High Definition / Picture Delay

I currently use a standard Sky TV Box for horse racing etc. on which there is a few seconds delay. I'm thinking of upgrading to Sky+HD, am I right in thinking the delay will be lengthened by a second or two on Sky+ ? Thanks.

the delay between non hd and hd is about 1 second

As long as you're viewing non HD channels using a HD box there's no extra delay?
