back small lay big?

Hey guys

I wanted to here if some on have tryed backing and laying at very big odds or small odds in a in-running horse race..

I mean does it work with backing at 1.01 or laying at 1000. I know you have to have a big bank role, but have some one tryed it?

I have another think i will like to get an answer on, why are someone laying at 1.01, the horse ist almost a winner or?
