I recently discovered Bet Angel and after doing a bit of manual scalping in Basic, I decided to give Pro a go. I basicly hate gambling but have done some Betmatching on football, Poker Botting and Casino bonuses, so I appreciate the power of statistics and calculated risks - or should we say making the right move for the right reasons. I can better accept a loss if it was bad luck.
I'm not looking to get rich quick, and I love the quote "a hard way to make an easy living", which I read somewhere here.
I haven't seen any trader logs here, so I don't know if it's fitting. It's something I've seen poker botters do.
Anyway after reading through the forum, I'm taking a low risk grinding approach to this. Hopefully other newbies can learn something, and the pro's will give me tips to file off the rough edges.
I will be doing micro scalping on UK horses, as this seems to be where the daily action is. I've opened a new Betfair account with €100 starting balance (won't ruin the xmas shopping). I will be following these rules to minimize greed and poor decisions:
- Max €2 stakes
- Max liability €20
- 1 tick profits
- Fill/kill 20 sec
- Pre race trading only
- Stop trading 30 sec before race
- Stop daily trading at -€6 / +€10
Any other pointers are welcome.
Newbie Personal Trader Log
So first day of trading the early races is done. I've stopped trading for today since I've hit my daily max loss (€5.87). In total I've done 230 bets.
I've stuck to the rules and never went in-play. I didn't catch much movement in the marked, and when I did, I was on the wrong side of the fence. In hindsight my mistake was probably to try and make opportunities where there were none.
I feel I have a better understanding of the dynamics of pre-race trading, but still have a long way to go as to interpret all the numbers coming at me. I have my screen setup like attached. I've seen charts up on the youtube videos but can't find any to match in my version of BAP. Any thoughts?

Decided to leave the horses, as it's too fast paced for me to start with.
Been trading the correct score market on 11 soccer games in the past 10 days. Was up by €3.27 until today, which I think is alright ROI for €2 stakes.
I've been backing 1-0 and 0-1 pre-game and traded out after 15-30 mins. The only problem with this strategy is when you get fucked by a game like Man City v Everton tonight, where Everton puts in 2 goals in the first 20 mins. Lost €6.79 on this game.
Usually when a team scores before I trade out, I can cover the stakes with the bet as the odds quickly drops after the 1st goal. Problem is when a 2nd goal is scored.
Any ideas to stop this leak in the strategy?
