Prospects for boxing day are very bleak indeed. It's going to be my worst month on racing for some time. Hopefully we wont see another spell like this for some time.
Fontwell - On
Down Royal - Postponed
Leopardstown - Postponed
Kempton - Inspection - Looking less likely now
Huntingdon - OFF
Limberick - OFF
Market Rasen - OFF
Towcester - OFF
Wetherby - OFF
Wincanton - OFF
Wolverhampton - Subject to an inspection
Weather / Abandoned meetings etc.
Fear not. The snow in Europe will thraw out, and by mid-January we will all be roaring out of the gates kicking and punching hard with better strategies, better discpline and more experience, grinning as it all begins anew.
That's the great thing about punting, there's always another day.The sun will blaze for us again, both literally and figuratively.
'For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn' when the winnings start rolling in
Have a great Christmas and New Year all!

assuming that you don't trade between now and the end of the calendar year...how does Dec 2010 compare (in percentage P&L terms) against Dec 2009..(unfortunately my detailed records start Jan 2010, so i am unable to draw comparisons)
Thanks
Peter
This sounds like a disaster for you guys in the UK. UK Racing Post weather tables show all racing this week is likely wiped out, and probably seriously disrupted up until mid-January next year.
In fact, it's the worst December in the UK since 1890 , what were the odds on this?
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/view/16 ... Christmas/
"The latest cold snap comes after yesterday was declared the coldest December 25 on record.
Temperatures plunged to -20C in Shropshire which smashed the record of -5.9C registered in Glenlivet, Scotland, on Christmas Day, 1996.
And weathermen said that another week of icy weather will mean this will be the coldest December since 1890."
By the time the big thraw comes mid-January, everything will be flooded out:
"Jonathan Powell, from Positive Weather Solutions, warned: “As literally tons of snow melts nationwide during a major thaw, we can expect flooding in many areas, plus a bumper call-out for plumbers, with the likes of roof leaks and pipes bursting."
Finally, this is likely to result in a flu epidemic:
“With the flu virus taking a grip, the milder weather will be a perfect breeding ground for the condition to spread.”
"On Friday, the Department of Health revealed critical flu cases had doubled in a week."
"The number of people in critical care with confirmed or suspected flu in England has risen to 460 – a rise from 182 on December 15."
After being blinded and frozen with snow, wading in your gumboots through the floods, and holed up at home with the flu, by the time you guys get to start trading again you'll have forgetten what normal trading is
