Or fixing a folding table to the wall of your kitchen.
I remember when I had a Monday to Friday job wasting a whole weekend adjusting the gears and brakes on my bicycle before eventually taking it to a bicycle mechanic. Now it's a delicate balance between making money trading, having some free time and enjoying the fruits of your own handiwork. :)

Word of advice Derek about wood flooring.... 'carpet'. 👍 And set out your shed pad corners with a manometer (aka any old clear tube with water in it) and take a level off those with string. Or better still pay someone to do the shitty jobs and just do the nice bits. 😊

I used to live in a flithy bedsit because I found housework a shitty job and never did any. I've now developed the attitude that life was never meant to be a bed of roses. Just get on with the shitty jobs and enjoy a nice clean environment, until the cat desides to empty the contents of its stomach wherever it happens to be. :)

I use a guy called Rod Hull for roofing jobs, not seen him for a while tho :?
(coincidentally my old man did a lot of roofing so I know the theory, but I'm sh!t scared of heights so that keeps me on terra firma)
That was a sad story. I saw a guy on his roof last week at the end of my street. He must have been in his mid 80s. He seemed relaxed, but I was terrified for him and hurried away, hoping not to hear a thud.

Poor guy might have been stranded, pop out and see if he's still there...

I did, actually. Happily, I saw him in his front garden. So, I did the right thing AND I didn't even have to speak to anyone ;)

That could so easily have been "Man with dementia dies after falling off roof" or "unsafe worker falls off roof and is saved by soft landing on pushchair". Either way I think I'd have phoned the police to be on the safe side rather than turning a blind eye.

Mind you, could of been someone re-enacting the strangeway riots. (nearly 30 years ago). Have a look if you recognise him in the news report.
