I currently have two pc monitors with an indirect view of the TV for pictures but looking to intergrate as part of my pc set up for trading. However, I'm not sure whether to get a tv monitor connected to a separate box and get a live feed from a dedicated lcd tv or get a PC monitor but with a tv tuner so that I can get live pictures from tv to my pc. Getting pictures on pc will be an advantage as I will be able to resize and move about tv screen on anypart of the pc but I'm presuming its slightly expensive than getting a LCD TV?

How do people with multiple screens get live pictures?

If you have pc tuner what is the recommended one?

Any help or recommendation will be greatly appreaciated.

Which you go for is really a personal choice and depends upon your setup and needs I guess.

But one option I would perhaps add into the mix would be using a Slingbox - this will be connected to your picture source - I assume Sky or Virgin, the mains and the internet via an Ethernet connection to your router or using homeplugs. As you will be accessing it from your internal network there will be next to no picture delay. It can be moved at ease and resized on your PC screen but has the added bonus in that if you are ever away from home you can access and control your Sky/Virgin box be it for trading or watching the latest episode of whatever from the otherside of the world.

Expect to pay about £100 for a Slingbox:

Thanks Andy, this has definately given me more food for thoughts and different avenue to explore. I currently have cable with just one box in the house but considering getting sky with multiroom as it'll cost will be similar but not completely sure about changing broadband with Sky rather virgin cable. I'm currently happy with cable broadband and bit skeptical of getting sky broadband.

If I continue with virgin cable then slingbox would definately do the trick. Plus it has added benefit of watching it on laptop or iphone.

Can you not get Multiroom with Virgin or is the cost to much?

I can get multiroom with virgin but cost will be a tad over sky and with sky you can watch some sports sometimes only through red button means that tv wise it makes sense to go with Sky except broadband isn't the same from what I can glean.

But if I get multiroom with Virgin cable then what is the best PC setup?

Andy, re. the Slingbox you don't actually need to use their expensive homeplugs (think they're about £90). Any wireless bridge should be fine to connect a Slingbox to your wireless router. I picked one up from Maplin for £30 and it works like a dream - currently trading the Australian racing from Bogota watching the pictures from my Slingbox back home.

Re. Sky Broadband I had it and it worked well, only issue I had with them was when I had a problem with slow speeds that took over 3 weeks to resolve as they refused to admit there was even a problem (someone had screwed up the patching back at the exchange).
Compare that with a problem I had earlier today here in Colombia when the broadband packed up. I'd resigned myself to no more trading today but after one phone call someone turned up an hour later with a new router (the old one had packed in and they'd diagnosed that remotely). He then ran some tests and said that there might be a problem with the wiring that if fixed would speed things up, he then spent 20 minutes wandering around on the roof checking the wiring and sure enough much quicker now - can just imagine that happening in the UK with our health and safety culture!
