Hi all

I use Excel to place my bets. It has commands & scripts to place bets automatically into the market. This has worked for the past 12 months.

However, I now need guardian to 'Keep All Unmatched Bets', as I want to place unmatched bets in the market via Excel. I have created this rule to keep unmatched bets (see screenshot named 'Automation Rules Editor'). I go to the drop down box on 'Automation Rules' in the guardian panel, & select the rule (rule is named Unmatched).

The guardian panel (see screenshot attached named 'Guardian Panel') shows that my excel sheet has placed two unmatched bets into the market, & also shows under the 'Automation' tab that the rule is in place for that market.

However, on Betfair it never changes the unmatched bet from 'Cancel' to 'Keep'.

For this example the log now shows that the market suspended on Betfair for this market, so the two unmatched bets have now lapsed, so the 'Keep All Unmatched Bets' doesnt work.

The only way Guardian changes the unmatched bets from 'Cancel' to 'Keep', is when I have to manually click on 'Edit rules file' for that rule, & click on 'Apply', & re-save it, without even changing one single thing about the rule. Just apply and save, & then it actions the rule. The only other time the rule will trigger is if I make the rule blank under 'Automation Rules' in the guardian panel and re select the rule (rule is named Unmatched).

After only clicking on apply, then save, or after making the 'Automation Rules' blank and re selecting the rule again, it works, & then shows the following message in the log... '[G_Auto]: Modify bet persistence... from 'Cancel' to 'Keep'. (see sceeenshot attached 'G_Auto Modify bet persistence'). On Betfair it then shows the bet has been changed from 'Cancel' to 'Keep'.

I dont understand why I have to open the rule open, hit apply and re-save it for it to trigger the rule and only then keep the unmatched bets in the market. It should do this automatically, once the unmatched bet is placed in the market via my Excel sheets.

My settings for 'Restrict Refresh' & 'Exchange Streaming' are fine, so I know its not because its running slowly or not cyclying back through the markets quickly enough. It does this in a few seconds, otherwise my Excel sheets wouldnt place the bets initially.

Somebody please help me! :)

You have the unmatched bets rule always armed and set to trigger once, so will fire as soon as the market is added to guardian,
You need it to trigger sometime AFTER your excel sheet has placed the bet/s

Opening and re-applying it resets it so it can trigger once more, which is why it's now keeping them as you have unmatched bets in the market

Hi Dallas

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

This might be my first post but I know enough from reading so many other posts on here that you have all the answers :)

Could you please tell me how many triggers I will need to put in, &/or seconds in the 'seconds before rearming', or anything else. I'm new to this Automation Rules Editor, & only started using it a few days ago, as you can tell.

My 3 unmatched bets (lay bets of 2.00) on the 0-0, 1-0 & 0-1 markets will only ever get placed by my Excel sheets between the HT & the 77min (so 00:45:00 to 01:17:00).

My back bets are always matched for the 0-0, 1-0 & 0-1 markets straight away between the HT & the 77min, so I just need to ensure that the 3 unmatched bets (lay bets of 2.00) 100% get changed from 'Cancel' to 'Keep', once they are placed in the market via my Excel sheet, before the market suspends for the first time, and they lapse.

Thanks again.

If you arm the keep unmatched bets rule from 00:45:00 to 01:17:00 and set it to trigger 320 times and rearm every 10secs
(so it basically keeps triggering every 10 secs between those times it shouldn't miss any unmatched bets)

Or if all the lays get placed at the same time you could just leave it to trigger one time between those time but add a;
'Number of Unmatched Bets Condition'
is equal to 3

So it will only trigger when those 3 unmatched lays are in the market

You're a star Dallas.

Ok, so I'll change the 'Rule Trigger Times' setting from 'Always armed', to 'in-play time' and set the 'Arm trigger at' 00:45:00 to 'until' 01:17:00.

I'll give this a test on this evenings games, before hopefully going live with it tomorrow.

Once again, thank you very much.

Thank you.

Hi Dallas

I noticed yesterday that for some reason randomly when it placed the back or lay bet in Excel, every so often it places more than one back and more than one lay (0-0 for example). For this reason I was going to create a 'Condition' so it only ever places one back bet and one lay bet for that 0-0 scoreline, so its not possible for the 0-0 scoreline to have more than one back and one lay.

After reading some of you're other posts, I found out that if I use both the 'Number of Matched Bets condition', & 'Number of Unmatched Bets condition', and make it equal to '0', then this will fix the issue about it placing more than one back & lay bet for that 0-0 scoreline.

So, if I decide to try you're below 2nd option...

'Or if all the lays get placed at the same time you could just leave it to trigger one time between those time but add a;
'Number of Unmatched Bets Condition'
is equal to 3
'

... will this conflict with what I want above? or can I just add you're 2nd option, so then it has 3 conditions, so two conditions for 'Number of Unmatched Bets Condition', so it prevents the above issue and also fix the keep bet problem at the same time.

All those conditions are only applicable when using Guardians Advanced Automation, not Excel.

It can still be done using Excel but I don't use it for my automation so couldn't advise how best to code it in, you'd need to post the question in the excel section of the forum
