Hi,

I have watched many you tube videos and the two most essential elemenst of profiting from football are to watch a match live and to focus on one specific league. I tried watching Inter Milan v Juventus and did help a lot and made a profit. He also suggests that you should focus on only one league. However, if you take the Premier League which most people are familiar with only a small number of matches are televised so it hard to gain enough time to practice and learn different strategies. Any thoughts on these two points?

If you take out a subscription with NBC Sports then you can watch ALL premier league games. Even the ones that Sky and BT are not showing. :D

Just checked their site and it says US only. If you are only trading one league doesn't that reduce the time you have to learn new systems also?

You can get around that by using a secure USA vpn.

However, what exactly are you trying todo. Leagues with lots of goals, leagues with lots of draws ?

Hi,

I am looking for peoples views on whether they watch matches live and do they focus on one specific league and does this help them?

I only trade before the start and at half time, never during the game as a sudden goal or red card can play havoc with the odds.

I was making a profit from matches at half time based on 0-2 goals in the second half but sometimes I got stung. Only £2-3 though as I am testing so no big deal.

Depends on your trading approach, doesn't it. Some people specialize a few specific teams, usually top teams, and only trade their matches because it makes it a bit easier to read them and find value.

Thank you, is this the approach you take?

It is, probably around 90% of my football trading is within the Premier League, and then around 90% of that is probably trading the top 6 teams. It's obviously the most liquid league by far and it's the best league anyway so it makes sense to trade it. I know traders usually say not to trade your own team but I feel most comfortable trading Liverpool since I know them inside and out. Wouldn't make much sense focusing on my local team Dinamo Zagreb and their league because liquidity is crap, opportunities are few, scalability is impossible and such obscure leagues may get removed from the exchange completely in the long term.
