Essential Stats and Terrible Stats?

Hi,

Are there any essential stats that you look for. I have focusing on the home and away form of each team and the time they score there first goal. But I ignore the result of when they last played as I see this is quite pointless.

What are your views?

You could spend all your time looking at every different stat that somebody says is relevant but you will most likely find the market is priced correctly, so use the price/probability
