I was confident there would be a goal. If the match slowed down I would have traded out at about half my stake.
Football trading strategies
not being funny, but at lunchtime (today), you didn't know how to place a lay bet. what changed?JustLukeYou wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 11:02 pmI was confident there would be a goal. If the match slowed down I would have traded out at about half my stake.

Who was the first person to reply to this thread after nearly 2 days trying to help?
I'm really pleased with my strategy last night. It was a frantic game with lots of opportunities at both ends. When Algeria made it 3-0 it made me think instantly that the game was killed off instead of Colombia making it 2-1. If Colombia scored to make it 2-1 I think the odds would have crashed slightly lower which would further increase my profit and give me more chance of getting the full 8.5 odds.

Maybe I'm wrong but looks like I am the only person to share a strategy and to explain it in detail.
Anyone else care to chip in?

Wales and Russia arent even in the same group at the world cup so this match that you "knew" wales would beat russia and they did didnt happen?
Correct score markets for me arent the place to start trading for a newbie, it can very quickly go against you and the odds are that higher for a reason, how do you even know the odds were value? how quickly do you think the odds will move and how much money in the market on the correct scores markets for you to trade out of for some obsure and untelevised game?
Keep it simple, overs/unders markets

JustLukeYou,
Some really good advice would be to head over to the Bet Angel Academy and have a look at some of the content on there - I think there is about 8 hours worth of stuff on Football Trading alone:

Watching a game and backing the stronger team is far from a detailed strategy, millions of people do this, including Ray Winstone. You don't need an exchange to do that. If you unplugged your ears for a second you would realize there may be more value in laying instead of backing, especially at lower prices.JustLukeYou wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 9:45 amMaybe I'm wrong but looks like I am the only person to share a strategy and to explain it in detail.

Sorry about the state of your thread Mickey

But Luke hijacking your thread isn't really the reason why people haven't replied much, it's because good football traders usually don't really use flat strategies on every game (unless they're using automation with Bet Angel). In other words, if there was a perfect strategy like the one you're looking for then you would know about it by now, and everyone else would too, but then this flat strategy would cease to exit.
As you've probably gathered by now, to effectively trade football you don't need a strategy per se, you need a skill of being able to spot value in various situations where an event is simply underpriced or overpriced, but this must come from your own opinion based on a ton of experience. The so called strategies that you see around on the internet that include multiple markets aren't really strategies, they're more staking plans than anything else, and the edge does not come from those staking plans, it must come from you. If you looked at the many trading examples of top traders then you would get the picture on how best to approach football.
That being said, there is often good value in 2 goal leads, even 3 goal leads, especially if they happen relatively early in the match. But for me the main advantage of trading football is that you can potentially catch an instant massive swing of price with just 1 goal that can happen at any second, sometimes even by taking minimal risk. This is not something that other sports like tennis have, where they serve for points so price movement has to be more gradual. So that's something unique to football which many good traders try to abuse, both on Match Odds and on Overs/Unders which are arguably the only two markets that a trader needs.

There are 10s of football strategies on the forum, and many are explained in deatil. That's just in the automation section without all those in the Football threads.JustLukeYou wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 9:45 amMaybe I'm wrong but looks like I am the only person to share a strategy and to explain it in detail.
(btw Luke, do you know who 'Euler' is?)

Could you please explain to me what Euler means by "first base"?
You will probably find that out during puberty.JustLukeYou wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 5:01 pmShaunWhite,ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 3:36 pmThere are 10s of football strategies on the forum, and many are explained in deatil.
