Just had a look at some of my bots records from the night and liquidity wasn't much for the dogs so you've done extremely well to to get £98 out of the 8:08 where the matched volume at the off was only £1K and even picking £207 out of the £13K matched in the 9:47 is some feat. My bot found no opportunities in the first one and made a mighty £1.36 in the second, I need to up my skills
I'd settle for your £1.36. ;)

I'll have a guess and say Rik laid a beaten favourite and was unable close trade for anywhere near the lay stake, leaving huge liabilities if it went in.

I'm pretty sure he said he doesn't just trade and lets a lot run. That's the only way you'd get those numbers from such small markets.

Must have been just two people trading it. Rik and the guy who lost!

Another silly question if I may - does the NSW racing turnover charge apply to the dogs?

yes first he matched my back bet then the trade out ;)
obviously im not managing to trade out all bets on the greyhounds, maybe can call my approach on low turnover markets directional bookmaking, will attempt to even my position close to the start but depends on the price and how high my liability is. generally at least for australian greyhounds you dont seem to be on the wrong side if a runner is generally being backed or layed even at SP
my edge for the year on the dogs just 7% after commission so was running well there, if you do low amounts on a higher win rate you might do similar profit just pay more premium charge

no turnover charge on the greyhound racing, easy way to check on the market information any market that has 10% base rate

You might be better off starting a new thread with that because not many people look in here mid-week. You can get free past data of Betfair or purchase more comprehensive data, but I think most data gatherers download it real-time.
