Sorry if this is a completely noob question!

Why are past runs not shown in the Form section of certain horses?

I've always assumed that if there is no Form, then the horse must be on it's maiden run - but I'm noticing a couple of horses almost every day, which actually do have past runs when you click on the horse history...

Is there a reason for this - or are these occurrences just bugs/errors on the websites?

The previous runs were probably not run 'under rules' i.e. regulated by the British Horse Racing Authority. So probably weren't profeesional races and were just races like point to points etc Do you have any examples?

I see! So should these "unofficial" races be counted as irrelevant to studying the Form of the horse - or do they provide a good indicator which most people will overlook as it's "hidden"?

A couple I saw today - from OddsCheckers Racecard... https://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racin ... :00/winner

Horse No. 4 - Call Me Maizie... has no Form at all - but had one run according to SkySports... https://www.skysports.com/racing/form-p ... -me-maizie
and
Horse No. 10 - Pammi... has the season break marked - but none of the long list of previous runs... https://www.skysports.com/racing/form-p ... 2193/pammi

That race at Ayr was a novice hurdle, so some horses will be making hurdles debut but will have run on the flat a few times. So depending on how the data is presented, the form line will be empty (no National hunt experience - hurdles or chases), but the data will show flat form.
