Hi Dallas,

I have downloaded Betfair Pro and placed a Back bet of £2 on Under 5.5 goals in the AC Milan v SPAL match tonight at 1.05. I have watched the following YouTube video and read the guide but Guardian is not allowing me to create a rule. It will only allow me to Import rules files so I am bit confused as to what I do next. Do I need to import rule for each different market?

I want to create apply a rule that automatically places a Lay so that the maximum loss I can make is 20%. So in this example from tonight if my stake reaches a value of £1.60 a Lay stake is placed. I have tried some other videos but starting to get very confusing. Any suggestions please?

Is there certain terminology for this type of trade. The videos seem to be based on time instead of the value of my stake. I have tried a few other videos and they based on time, for example 30 minutes into a match do this instead of based on the value of my stake.

Automation is only available in the pro version, once using that there are tons of readymade examples and rules files in the shared files section, including one that will stop you out for a loss which you can copy the rules into an automation file to do everything or just run it in the background after you've manually opened a trade

Thank You Dallas, having a template is a massive help.

I have installed it and changed the time settings from 10 minutes in play to 5 hours in play. Would I change the Condition Type to "Weight of Money condition" to 80%? I have searched the forum for "stop loss" but there are 220 posts coming up.

Does the system automatically place a lay trade based on the value of my back stake that is waiting to be matched or does it wait for the market to change.

For example, if I placed a back of £10 would it place a Lay trade automatically which only allow me to lose a maximum of £2?

Gosh this is confusing, just realised that method is based on time and I need to offset at fixed point but it is asking me to enter the odds at I will place the trade but the lay odds will be different based on the odds of the back is placed.

This gets even more confusing!

It looks like this process also applies a stop loss but I take it this process is not automatic unless I choose it from the drop down menu at the point at which I place the bet?

If you place a back bet at 1.05, you win 5% if it wins and lose 20% if you trade out at 1.24. Nothing wrong with learning to automate but you won't get far with such a poor risk/reward ratio.

You're confusing two separate features and tools of Bet Angel
That video shows how to use the regular stop-loss feature of global settings.
https://www.betangel.com/user-guide/bet ... tings.html

The automation is completely separate from that, and an automation rule can be configured to do almost anything from triggering at a preset time to testing for dozens of conditions you tell it to look for.
The example rule above only uses one condition which is a Profit condition so will trigger if the value you set is exceeded, ie if your using £10 stakes and want to exit if the loss exceeds £2 then your profit condition would have
less than -£2.00

Your probably best looking at video courses on automation in the Bet Angel academy and reading through the automation section of the user guide to understand what it does and how it works

Many thanks,

The stakes will differ so I am looking to trade out on 20%.

I am still unclear as to whether the system places the Lay automatically which is unmatched.

As for reading the manual, I need to create around 50 listings of eBay before I can even think about looking at it. I thought this would be a very popular set up where I can just enter "20" into a 'Stop Loss' box.

You've got plenty of time to fire questions, you don't need to create 50 eBay listings before you do that!!

It would be a lot simpler if you could just enter "profit" into a 'would you like a profit or loss?' box!

Derek, can you please stop stalking me on this forum. You don't trade football and you are clearly not interested in it.

I have experience of trading football, obviously more than you have. Besides, your question has nothing to do with football but setting up a 20% stop-loss, which is not sport-related.

Derek, I have asked you nicely. Please stop stalking me. Dallas has helped massively. You on the other hand seem to have some form addiction or sexual perversion for following me around with pointless comments that offer absolutely no value.

I have tried this file also and I am running into the same problem, there are 100's of different options and it is very unclear what options I need to use. As far as I can tell I need to Lay All selections but it asking me to insert the odds but I want to use a percentage.

I am trying to use a piece of software, not for people to listen to me.
