I want to lay a horse at post time then back it back in play. However if the horses price falls to 50% lower than the original lay price I want to back it back.

I know I need to use signals but I am getting in a bit of a mess with it all.

Could anyone shed some light on how to achieve this please :-)

Can you describe what you mean by "back it back" ?

So I lay the horse at 10.0 if that horse price drops to 50% below I want to put a back bet in and take a small loss.

You shouldn't need signals for this.

You could consider just creating a green up rule with a green all profit condition equal but opposite to the stake - ie if the original stake was £2 then set the condition to green up if profit is less than -1.99.

I suspect you are already aware of the in play delays and dangers of not getting matched etc - so you might want to test and play with the amounts.

This is obviously taking some sort of opposite approach of the DOBers so you might be lucky to find a sticking point there to get matched with.

SO If I was to lay for £10 I want to back it again when the price has dropped 50% below...

I cant see how your way would be the same?

I must be misunderstanding you - when you say "....I want to back it again"
I didn't catch when you backed it the first time.

Or perhaps you don't realise that if the odds drop by 50% - whatever the starting position - that the green all profit postion will always be the same as the stake - positive for a backer - negative for a layer.

I think I will just stick to the way I had planned and muddle my way through

When you place your lay bet, store the lay price on the stored values tab, give it a name ie 'layp'
then new rule: back bet. condtion using stored value - back price is less than the stored value 'layp' minus 50%
