When I'm practice mode, the program ignores my stakes setting and inserts much higher values, sometimes in the hundreds.

Its unlikely to ignore your settings and more likely its not set right. Check that the blue cog is crossed or uncrossed according to whether you want it to use your global settings.

The great thing about practice mode is you get to familiarise yourself with how the markets & software function, as an add on to that, you get to see how you will react to certain situations. I honestly don't think that the software or the market is the issue, it's more likely down to not fully understanding (dont take that personal, we've all been there) & I may be wrong. There is a lot of people that will confirm the reliability of the software (not so much the market though.)

I'm sure with some tinkering you will soon be up to scratch & welcome btw.

it was down to me. I set the stakes in column 1 but not the other columns.
