How to automate lay and then back IF

Hi,

I want to set up this:
1) Lay when price reaches @30 for £5 (but I do not want the best price availavle when its trading between eg.20.0-25.0)
2) Back the same selection IF it drops down to 20.0 but ONLY IF the lay was matched first.

The strat may sound silly but i just would like to know how to set such a thing up.

Set a rule to Lay using the fixed odds condition (layprice is 30), then set a signal (ie set signal 'layplaced = 1') once that bet has been placed. It will be matched because you are placing the bet when the price is 30

2) Back the same selection IF it drops down to 20.0 but ONLY IF the lay was matched first.

set a back rule (or greening rule) with fixed odds condition (backprice is 20) and the condition that the signal 'layplaced' is set.

If the back bet gets placed at 20.0, will it not be matched when abetter/higher odds is available or will automation only place the bets once odds go down to 20.0?

It would place the back bet when the back price touches 20 but BF will always match you at the best available odds, so you'll always get 20 or better.

Ive just tried it pre-race and it doesnt seem to work.
It places lay bet on a favourite, 1st row even when i set up "guardian nominated selection 1" in "conditions" and pick a runner from the bottom.
When i select a runner where there is clealy 60.0 on the lay side it doesnt execute the script.

EDIT:
Ok i got it sorted. It turns out i had to set it up in "general" tab, not in "conditions"
Dont understand why "conditions" tab "guardian nominated selection 1" settings dont kick in though...
Whats the point of having conditions having set up if they dont work untill i set it up in "general" tab?

Because no software can know or preempt what you want it to do unless you tell it.
You might want to lay the fav or the selection in Betfair in row 3 so apply the rule to that selection, but only on the condition a nominated selection is priced over 'X'
