Hi guys, maybe someone knows the answer. How it's possible to have at 1000 odds back bets under minimum stake without first placing a 2€ back bet?

I see it all the time on the ladder, in play bets matched at 1000 under minimum stake. I also had lay bet at 1000 and I was matched with back bets like 0,01€, 0.03€ etc... I knew it's not possible, you need to place 2€ stake first. Who is doing this?

Many times I lost 2€ when I wanted to hedge a lay bet and my 2€ back bet was matched at 1000.

The Betfair API allows you to place bets under the £2 minimum as long as the payout is £10. So placing 2p at 1000 is fine as long as the bet has been placed via the API, I'd imagine most software has been written to take this into account when placing bets as the £10 payout rule has been around ages.

Hi. I was talking about back bets, sorry I should have specified. I can't place 0.05 back bet at 1000 without making an £2 bet first at 1000 odds, but others are doing this and I don't know how

If you bet via the api the software should be written to take into account the new rules for under £2 bets. You can't do under £2 via the website. Payout counts both ways for backing and laying, as long as the payout of the bet is above £10 it's allowed laying or backing

Ok. Thanx Spreadbetting. I was not aware about new rules for under £2 bets. Where I can find more info, do you have a link?

Now I use other software, If I want to place £0.05 @ 1000, it's first placing a £2 bet, cancel the bet and after thatt it's placing the £0.05 bet.

Betangel place directly £0.05 bet @ 1000 without a £2 bet first placed?? I tested with 2 softwares and a £2 bet it's first placed.

"Ability to place lower minimum stakes at larger prices

In order to allow customers to bet to smaller stakes on longer-priced selections, an extra property has been added to our Currency Parameters – “Min Bet Payout”.

As currently LIMIT bets where the backer’s stake is at and above the ‘Min Bet Size’ for the currency concerned (£2 for GBP) are valid. In addition, bets below this value are valid if the payout of the bet would be equal to or greater than the value of ‘Min Bet Payout’ - £10 for GBP. For example, a bet of £1 @ 10, or 10p @ 100 or 1p @ 1000 are all valid as they all target a payout of £10 or more.

This functionality is available to "orderType: LIMIT" bets only.

Please note: This function is only enabled for UK & International customers and not .it, .es, .dk and .se jurisdictions."

The documentation won't help you if you're a software user, it's aimed at software authors.

Cheers Spreadbetting & Shaun . Thanx taking your time to post that. New info for me.

I think they forgot to add .ro domain also (betfair.ro) because from betfair.ro it's not working placing smaller bets without placing $2 stake first. It's the same exchange, same markets, but it's not working.

Now "mystery" solved why I was seeing those small stakes matched @ 1000
