Glad to be here and make my first post!
I have been trading on live account for the past 2 days and I have realized that when I am placing an order on the ladder there is a timer that counts down to 3 when placing a back or lay bet.
Watching Peters videos and various other traders on youtube. When they click on the ladder to place a bet the bet is placed instantly.
Is anyone able to advise on how to disable this.

That will be the in-play delay timer.
Betfair impose a delay on ALL in-play bets and there is no getting around this, the delay length depends on the sport which are listed in the following post (in the last 2 weeks some people have posted Betfair have changed the tennis delay from 5 to 3 secs but I've not seen or heard of anything official from Betfair)

Also if your stake is below the £2 Betfair minimum the delay time is doubled

I have worked it out now.
Yesterday I was in a losing position but very close to breaking even. I clicked on Take SP all and for some reason, it did not trigger. I managed to hold my nerve and get out, but when I clicked on the the greening button at the top I noticed the delay timer before it executed the hedge.
Anyway thanks again!

Was your SP bet above the Betfair minimum (£2 for a back bet and £10 liability for a lay bet)?
If not then it will have triggered but been rejected by Betfair, it sounds like you then had to hedge in-play so had the delay when greening?

Hmm, well I scaled in a load of 2 pound back bets. So the back bets were definitely above the minimum. But yes I had to hedge in-play for the first time on the edge of my seat heart pumping 
it's been a long time to feel like that when it was only a 15 pound loss. My size is muuuuch bigger when I trade bitcoin etc...
