I have an Excel system setup with 5 sheets to use with the Guardian link.
today I had 4 soccer matches running concurrently and when three of them had reached the aimed winnings and had greened up, I DISANGAGED THEM IN THE GUARDIAN, LEAVING ONLY THE ONE STILL WORKING, LINKED TO ITS EXCEL SHEET. Only then I set out to make some changes in the sheets disengaged. One of them fired bets and I lost money. How can that be? I can't be sure which game was running in BA in that moment, but BA was not linked to excel at all. very annoying to loose money in such a silly way.... and can't be Betfair's fault either... any ideas from Bet Angel support?
cheers
HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN?
Did you remove the sheet reference in the last column of Guardian? I would say if a sheet is not connected to Bet Angel then it can't place a bet as it would not know how to route the data.
So maybe you were mistaken and disconnected the wrong one without noticing?

We clarified recently on another thread the way Guardian and Excel works. If you link multiple spreadsheets to Guardian then Bet Angel monitors conditions on them whether it is cycling or not. So it's a true multiple market operation when linked in this manner.
If you link via the main Bet Angel interface then it will only scan and monitor one spreadsheet, the one that is attached to the current market.
Say you had twenty football matches all timed to fire a bet in five minutes before the off. If you link in Guardian, even if Bet Angel is not pointing to the market. it is still monitoring all spreadsheets for conditions to be met.
Hope that clarifies things.

That is what I did, removed all but one reference link in the last column of the guardian, I left the excel linked to guardian because I had one sheet running, but I'm pretty certain I removed the others... (one of which fired the bet)
Now, we'll never know what happened exactly, I could be wrong of course, but I am just documenting this thing as it looks to me, so that, should there be anybody else with the same mishap, then BA support know that we have a problem...

Iknow what you mean LeTiss, it was I that raised the point a few days back about the list getting in a mess if any lines were removed.....
I simply put blanks in the link column instead of the sheet links and left populated the one still at work.
