What reason do punters have for moving? They can get their bets on at Betfair and much better facilities. If you don't get the punters moving the traders won't move.

The punters don't care about most of the problems we traders have, many are glad to see us take a hit tbh.

It's vicious circle isn't it ,
as people have said BetDaq needs
more punters as well as trader but why would you use BD as a punter, it's much harder for them to get matched.

But if the markets have money ready to be taken and not huge gaps then this will help,
that is why i like the new commision structure, there will most certainly be more money in the markets ready to be taken.

It's a start at least and nothing else has worked thus far.

Good point but I wasn't being specific to traders, I actually meant everyone!

I guess the 'why should we's outweight the 'why not's then?

P.s I have not heard about the new commission structure at BDaq has anyone got a link?

You missed a site wide crash lasted about 5mins and the forum is still down - be very careful
Thanks, the racing is so dire I haven't really been paying much attention.

For the long term health of a market you always need competition. The lack of it in the exchange marketplace is a negative for long term health and growth IMHO.

There isn't a link unfortuatly, Betdaq seem to be trying to keep it quiet for now for some reason,
some people received emails about it (not me) but i have seen copies posted on varius sites (sorry now removed).
Basically they want to encourage people to put money up for other punters to match, at the moment they say they have a problem that they have more takers than makers, so want to reward the makers.
so the commision structure will work out your make / take % and commision will be calculated based of that, it doesn't look hard at all imo to get to 2%.
So a good idea i think :)

Site crashes, new charges, bad customer service and still people don't leave Betfair. I don't think they ever will.

Hiya Corker

Like I said recently as long as people will put up with it it will happen

If you all stopped trading for a week it would change.

Thw British seem to have accepted bad service as the norm and an acceptable price to pay. What for I don't know.

If you all moved to betdaq there would be plenty of liquidity wouldn't there.

No point in anyone moaning if you are only ever going to perpetuate the problem.

Not having a go at anyone just my tuppence worth.

This may be slightly off topic and could be a bit dumb but I'll ask anyway. Whilst there is a lot of uncertainty with BF crashing would it be an idea to change one strategy slightly.

Petadro got caught with a 3k liability on 2.5 goals (backing I think) if one had been laying the opposite senario would it not have been possible for him to then back with the likes of Hills, 365 or Laddies even at a slight loss to cover the liability.

I know it would not be ideal but if you were hit with a technical outage you could still reduce the hurt somewhat.

why change strategy if he backed over 2.5 goals, could he not just as easily bk under 2.5 goals with a bookie to mitigate the exposure on betfair due to outage...

of course for either this or the posters strategy to work you would need over 2.5K limit at a bookies ,or one probably more very handy (physically) to take that bet or bets, both of which i feel are very doubtful to happen in reality.

I had layed Twente in 1.32 and 1.31 You can count how much money I have to have in other bookie or Betdaq to take the back bet  . The 3K lay Under 2.5 didn`t get matched. I try today Betdaq, but there very little liquidity.
