Has anyone seen the movie yet? I'm looking forward to it, hope it has a positive impact on the sport.

How do you guys think great horses of the past like Secretariat and Red Rum would against the best of today's horses?

I just came across this documentary, I haven't watched it yet but thought others might be interested in it:

Secretariat's Jockey - Ron Turcotte
Secretariat's legendary jockey Ron Turcotte is one of the few champions to have won the prestigious American Triple Crown. This is the remarkable story of Turcotte's rise to fame in 1973, the fall that left him a paraplegic in 1978-after an illustrious career with more than 3,000 victories-and his emotional journey back to the people and places that marked his life.
It is available on Amazon Video as part of Prime:

I've always been put off dramatizations of true stories, they're usually over-played.

To some extent, it would be like comparing Roger Bannister to a modern middle-distance runner. Timeform attempt it by seasonally adjusting their figures so you're comparing to a statistical norm. Having said that, Secretariat's breathtaking 12 seconds per furlong record in the Belmont still stands!
