My imagination or are Betfair a lot more on the ball with turning markets inplay today?
There was a bit about this on twitter
https://twitter.com/justideal/status/12 ... 6541377536
that the delay is being used to manipulate Betfair SP.

Delay yesterday seemed consistently around 4 seconds from hearing the start called on analogue radio to when market is switched in-play.
I expect Betfair's method is to switch in-play when they see the race jump on cable TV. That's 2 to 3 second delay on the cable plus reaction and tranmission time makes it 4 seconds and longer when they are slow to react. Maybe Betfair should buy a radio.
As if this guy has only just figured this out, that delay has been there for years

I love the way you talk about him as though it's the same guy. Reminds me of a standup joke: take care driving home, someone gets run over in this town every night and he's getting sick of it.

If he thinks the AU delay is bad, wonder what he would have thought about HK during the brief time it was available. Was 10 seconds behind the fastest feed I could find, so was conservatively 12-13 seconds behind live. There were a few cases when the fav missed the jump hopelessly and SP'ed $10 and above. Was a goldmine for those couple of weeks!

It most likely is - pretty much only attacks WA racing

I'm hearing some whispers from well connected people about a horse in the 1st at Kilcoy today, I'm already set for what I want so I'll pass it on. Chamberlain is expected to give this a shake first up, can currently get $8.50. No idea what it will trade at on BF when the liquidity kicks in, Kilcoy is a really strange track in that regard.

I hope it gets up for you. Will be interesting what price it starts at, still around the 7.50 to 9 dollars with the bookies 50 min before the race.

Drifting favourite killed them 😮 Solid 2nd though, modest profit although was hoping for more.

Delay at Kilcoy - problems with track surface.

Edit: meeting off, slippery track, green book down the drain. :(

No Randwick or Rosehill scheduled this weekend but Rosehill's on standby should Warwick Farm be abandoned.

Grafton abandoned, didn't catch why. A few extra tokens for the weekend. :)

7-second delay, not too bad.
I've just come across this conversation.

My solution to this issue is having a dedicated machine at a friend's house in Aus, in an area that picks up the AM broadcast, and using skype with auto-answer. It gives me a real-time audio feed wherever I am. It works great.
