So a couple of days ago was literally the first time I’d ever heard of trading on Betfair but it caught my interest straight away. I think it’ll be something fun I can participate in on weekends once I get my head round it. Am I right in thinking if I place a lay bet I would want the odds to get bigger to profit ? So would this be a example of successful trade In the picture I’ve attached I know the stakes are tiny but practice makes perfect 😂 I’m Determined to understand this thanks guys

Thanks! It was just looking at the ladder I found it a bit overwhelming. I’m going to purchase a new laptop at the weekend so I can use bet angel I think that will be a lot easier to use, I think I’m just making it harder for my self using my phone! Another question I have is say I lay a bet for example at 2.00 and I predict the odds to rise to say 2.30 should I place my back bet at 2.30 or wait for the odds to rise then do it ?

Doesn't matter much, if you place your exit bet earlier then you will get a better queue position at that price and get matched slightly faster when/if the price gets there.

Btw there are free courses at the Bet Angel Academy that you can check out, ranging from basic to advenced : https://online.betangelacademy.com/

if you thinnk the price will move up steadily its usually better to place a bet before the price moves there for better queue positioning, if price is jumpy for example towards the end of a match it might be better to place your bet during a break of the game or when the price is steady
